Service Agreement

All rates, fees, and charges outlined in this agreement are stated 

excluding GST, unless explicitly noted as ‘including GST’  Service Agreement Version 8.3


1. Quotation Basis

All quotes are estimates only. They are calculated depot-to-depot based on the information provided by the client. Actual charges may vary depending on job conditions, site access, or additional services/items required.


2. Booking Fee, Vehicle Surcharge & Discount Policy

Booking Fee – $70

  • Secures vehicle and allocated time slot
  • Covers administration and fuel for 50km
  • Mandatory for all bookings

Additional Vehicle Charges:

  • Flatbed Ute: $30
  • Enclosed Vehicle: $50

Distance Charges:

  • First 50 km included
  • $1.75 per km thereafter (subject to up to 25% variation due to fuel market changes)

Discount Policy:

  • All discounts apply only to invoices paid by the due date
  • Late payments may result in discount reversal and reinstatement of full rates

3. Hourly Rates & Weekend/Urgent Surcharges

Standard Hourly Rates:

  • 1 Man: $70/hour
  • 2 Men: $110/hour
  • 3 Men: $150/hour

Surcharges:

  • Friday: +15%
  • Saturday: +30%
  • Sunday: +40%
  • Urgent/Same-Day Bookings: +15% to 30%

Additional Fees:

  • Extra stops: $25 per stop
  • Extra trips/vehicle loads: $35 per additional vehicle load

4. Exclusions

Quotes exclude:

  • Items not mentioned at time of booking
  • Existing furniture at the destination
  • Disassembly or rubbish removal unless specified in writing

5. Additional Charges

Extra charges may apply for:

  • Stairs
  • Walks longer than 30 metres
  • Restricted parking or difficult access
  • Additional staff, vehicles, packing materials
  • Delays caused by the client

6.  Payment Terms

  • Payment is due on arrival at drop off address or if approved within 7 days of invoice
  • Late payments incur 1.5% monthly interest
  • Invoices unpaid after 14 days may be referred to collections

7. Vehicle Access, Exclusion Zone & Third-Party Safety

  • Clients and the public are not permitted inside vehicles
  • Loading by non-staff is not allowed
  • Third parties must have their own insurance if assisting
  • A 15-metre exclusion zone must be maintained around our vehicles

8. Heavy Items (Pianos, Pool Tables, Stone)

These items require professional handling and may only be moved by trained Furniture Taxi contractors. We accept no liability if non-staff assist in moving heavy or specialty items.


9. Stone Handling Disclaimer

  • We are not responsible for cracks, fractures, or damage to natural stone
  • No liability for chips or marks from hard surface placement
  • Clients accept the natural fragility and risks associated with stone

10. Insurance & Building Damage Policy

  • We only cover damage to items packed by us in sealed manufacturer packaging
  • Any building damage must be reported before our team leaves the site
  • Repairs will be managed by our licensed contractors — no cash settlements

11. Weekly Pricing & Monday Special

Discounted rates apply Monday to Thursday. Our Monday special includes 3 men and 2 vehicles. If unavailable, we may revert to 2 men with no compensation adjustment.


12. Contractor Liability Disclaimer

Furniture Taxi is not liable for damages caused by contractors unless we explicitly accept responsibility in writing. Clients accept all associated risks unless otherwise agreed.


13. Vehicles in Operation

  • VW Crafter (Long Wheelbase, High Roof)
  • Mercedes Sprinter (Mid Wheelbase, Tail Lift)
  • Toyota Hilux Ute (Tail Lift)

14. Vehicle Substitution Clause

If a vehicle is unavailable due to mechanical issues or emergencies, we may substitute with another vehicle without liability or delay compensation.


15. Booking Cancellation by Furniture Taxi

In the case of unforeseen emergencies, Furniture Taxi reserves the right to cancel or reschedule. We may offer to rebook or complete the job after-hours at 50% off after-hours rates.


16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This agreement is governed by the laws of Western Australia. All disputes fall under the jurisdiction of Perth, WA courts.


17. Environmental Risk Disclaimer

We accept no liability for delays or damage related to:

  • DFES Total Fire Bans
  • Humidity and timber warping
  • Coastal sand abrasion
  • Natural cracking in stone due to temperature stress

18. Insurance Exclusions (WA Specific)

We are not liable for:

  • Coastal salt erosion
  • Humidity over 75%
  • Road train curfews (e.g. Port Hedland)
  • Remote access delays
  • Stone damage from natural stresses

19. Client Disclosure Obligations

Clients must disclose any item valued over $1,000 before the job. Failure to do so voids all liability on that item.


20. Damage Claims Procedure

All damage claims must be:

  1. Reported before the crew departs
  2. Documented with photos/videos
  3. Emailed to dpasicwork@gmail.com within 24 hours

No cash settlements — Furniture Taxi will manage all approved repairs via licensed professionals.


21. Dispute Resolution

Disputes will be referred to the WA Small Business Development Corporation for mediation (www.smallbusiness.wa.gov.au).


22. Regulatory Compliance Notice

Furniture Taxi complies with the WA Fair Trading Act 2010. Complaints can be submitted to Consumer Protection WA at 1300 30 40 54.


23. Glass and Fragile Item Policy

We are not liable for damage to glass or fragile items unless packed by our team. We strongly advise clients to pre-wrap all fragile goods with bubble wrap or protective material.


24. Parking Instructions and Fines

We park based on the client’s instructions. Any fines incurred due to this will be billed to the client and must be reimbursed in full.


25. Minimum Charges When Handling Designated Items

If designated items are moved, minimum charges apply even if assisted by others:

  • 2 Men: 3-hour minimum
  • 3 Men: 4-hour minimum

26. Waste Management & Hazardous Materials

  • Tyre disposal: $20 per tyre
  • No hazardous materials (e.g. asbestos) accepted
  • Only clean general waste is accepted
  • Vehicle cleaning fee applies if soiled during job ($95 min)

27. Expired or Undated Promotions

Old promotions without a listed expiry date are invalid unless confirmed in writing before booking.


28. Rubbish Return Policy for Non-Payment

If payment is not made after rubbish is removed:

  • We may return waste to the property (e.g., verge)
  • Client is responsible for council-related issues or clean-up
  • A return/dump-back fee from $149 will apply

29. Third-Party Booking & Liability

If someone books on behalf of another (e.g., support worker, landlord, relative), the original booking party remains legally responsible unless formally transferred in writing and accepted by Furniture Taxi.


30. Police-Assisted or High-Risk Moves

Clients must notify us in writing if police presence is required. We reserve the right to cancel or require identification, upfront payment, or consent. We are not liable for withheld items, delays, or emotional distress related to high-risk relocations.
